Dormont Main Street was started in 2006 by an independent group of volunteers seeking to revitalize the West Liberty / Potomac business district in Dormont, PA. These volunteers included local business owners, Dormont's Mayor, members of Dormont's Borough Council, and interested residents.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has created a proven road map for such efforts: The Main Street Program, consisting of its "Four Point" Approach and Eight Guiding Principles. The program successfully partners the public and private sectors to improve, revitalize, or save "downtown" business districts.
The Dormont Main Street Program is now organized and managed by the Dormont Community Development Corporation (DCDC), a Pennsylvania non-profit 501(c)(3) organization which accepts tax deductible donations.
Many thanks to Jennifer Rawson of Eckert Seamans for all of her help with this effort!
We encourage you to get involved! Help make Dormont an even better place to live and work in!
